Tottenham fans names the shocking two managers who are the ‘best bets’ to replace Ange Postecoglou.
A Tottenham fan has called for a familiar face to return to the club, amid mounting pressure on Ange Postecoglou.
The Spurs head coach faces increasing scrutiny regarding his position after his side surrendered a two-goal lead against Chelsea to lose 4-3 at home on Sunday afternoon.
This means that the north Londoners are now without a win in four games and sit 11th in the table, and supporters have grown frustrated with their inconsistent performances.
Postecoglou has faced criticism for the manner of defeat this season, with his all-out attacking style once again proved costly against the Blues, who pounced on Spurs’ defensive frailties to turn the game around.
With Tottenham currently seven points adrift of the top four, one fan phoned in to talkSPORT’s to suggest two alternatives to the struggling Australian.
Speaking to fellow Spurs supporter Majestic on The Final Word after the match, caller James argued that the club should have appointed former boss Mauricio Pochettino in Postecoglou’s place in 2023.
He said: “You look at that Chelsea team, and who is the best manager in Europe to bring forward young players, who made that team to what it is now, for that guy [Enzo Maresca] to come in and reap the success? Pochettino.
“And the irony again, and that’s why you’ve got to blame [Daniel] Levy and not Ange. Ange is out of his depth and he should never have been appointed.
“But if Levy’s concept is to buy young players and spend a lot of money on them for the future, the best manager for that concept is Pochettino.
“He was there waiting. He was begging for that job, wasn’t he?”
The Spurs fan then urged chairman Daniel Levy to table a huge offer for the Argentine, who was announced as head coach of the US men’s national team in September.
James continued: “I think that Mr. Levy should break the bank.
