Newcastle have several players out of contract this summer who are likely to be moved on in January or could leave on a free at the end of June.

Martin Dubravka has interest from the Saudi Pro League with reports suggesting a deal for him has already been agreed upon in principle but nothing has been confirmed yet.

The likes of Callum Wilson and Jamaal Lascelles are more likely to stay at the club until the end of the season as they recover from injury.

Elsewhere, Toon boss Eddie Howe is keen to keep Fabian Schar around but has six months to get a deal together.

Meanwhile, reports this week claim that a player admired by Howe could soon commit his future to Newcastle despite not being a regular feature.

Emil Krafth offered new deal at Newcastle

Swedish defender Emil Krafth has only played three games this season against Southampton, Bournemouth and Tottenham before being dropped to the bench for the next eight games.

The 30-year-old is currently out with a broken collarbone but according to Alan Nixon, the defender has been offered the chance to stay on at Newcastle.

Krafth is one of the players out of contract at the end of the season but the club are reportedly a fan of his reliability and professionalism.

Krafth could return against Arsenal in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg at the Emirates with Toon boss Eddie Howe confirming he is “fit, running and looking good.

Newcastle need Krafth back for squad depth

Krafth is known as a player who can come in and get a job done when he needs to. Despite not signing him, Howe is a great admirer of the 30-year-old hence the move to keep him around.

Squad depth is key at this point of the season but Newcastle currently have Sven Botman and Lascelles out due to ACL injuries. Although they’re nearing full fitness having Krafth as an option would be a big boost to give Howe another option if need be.

Failing that, Newcastle have Lloyd Kelly that they can turn to but appearances this season have been limited since he joined from Bournemouth in the summer.

Kelly is also a left-footed centre-back which could pose problems if he were to play him together with Dan Burn.
