Kyle Walker shares Man City training ground update after he’s axed

Man City star Kyle Walker has taken to social media to share a training ground image ahead of their FA Cup game with local minnows Salford on Saturday (January 11).

The 34-year-old could be in line to make his first start for Pep Guardiola’s side since their last-gasp 2-1 defeat to Man United earlier in the season.

Walker has since come off the bench for three of City’s last four games, missing out on the 1-1 draw with Everton due to illness.

City went through their worst run of form since Guardiola took over in the back end of 2024, winning just two games throughout November and December.

Guardiola’s side seem to have turned a corner after their torrid run of form, winning their last two Premier League games and climbing up to fifth.

Kyle Walker hoping to salvage the season as Man City take on Salford in the FA Cup

The right-back has fallen down the pecking order at City this season, starting 11 of his 18 games across all competitions, and failing to provide a goal contribution in his 1159 minutes of action.

Walker appears determined to do what he can to help salvage Man City’s season, taking to Instagram to share a training ground update ahead of their FA Cup clash with Salford.

City have six games remaining in January alone, including crucial Champions League clashes with French champions PSG and Club Brugge.

Attention will return to the Premier League after the game against Salford, with the current champions set to travel to Brentford three days later.
