Matt Doherty has waxed lyrical about a former Tottenham teammate, insisting that he was the best passer across the Premier League during the time that the pair shared in North London.
A lot of Spurs fans will have already guessed who the former Tottenham right-back is talking about.
Anyone who has watched Harry Kane closely would know that his vision and passing range are among his biggest strengths, which is a strange thing to say about a player who is Tottenham’s all-time record goalscorer.
Such is the class of the 31-year-old, who is not only one of the best number nines in the world but would undoubtedly also be one of the best number tens in the game if he were ever to be used in a deeper role.

Doherty admitted that he was in awe of the kind of through balls that Kane would spray to the Tottenham wide players, particularly Heung-min Son.
The Republic of Ireland international insisted that under Antonio Conte, the England captain was passing the ball even better than Manchester City icon Kevin De Bruyne.
When asked to pick his top teammate between Son Heung-min, Matheus Cunha, Antoine Griezmann and Kane in the Sky Sports’ latest Sticker Book Challenge, Doherty picked the former Tottenham striker.
He said about his selection: “It’s got to be Harry because that period under Antonio (Conte), I say at the time he had a better passing range like than De Bruyne at the time.
“Some of the things that he was able to do, he was scoring assisting – him and Sonny were just…I mean, we didn’t win anything, but they were just doing incredible things. Probably a little bit biased because he’s a friend, but yeah, Harry Kane has gone in as top teammate.”

As Kane gets into his mid to late thirties and starts losing his legs, one can easily see him being moved into a midfield role.
Rooney made that transition later in his career and the former Tottenham Hotspur man could follow suit as he is as good as anyone in world football at seeing passes and being able to pick his teammates out.
That could help prolong Kane’s career at the highest level and he could break all sorts of records before he eventually hangs up his boots.
