Tottenham plotting outrageous move for Liverpool sensation who’s ‘ready to leave’ Anfield due to limited game time

The summer transfer window is just a few weeks away from opening, and it’s expected to be a big one for many clubs.

Jamie Carragher has already suggested that Liverpool could make six new signings with the Reds likely to flex their financial muscle in the market to bring in the players needed to flesh out the squad if they’re to retain the Premier League title next season.

As well as Liverpool, though, every big club in the Premier League could endure huge squad overhauls, with Tottenham one such team with the north London side needing a win in the UEFA Europa League if they’re to redeem anything from what has been a disastrous year for Spurs.

And Tottenham are now believed to be interested in signing one Liverpool player who has barely featured for the Reds this season.

Tottenham join the race for Liverpool’s Federico Chiesa

According to CaughtOffside, Tottenham are the latest club to join the race for Federico Chiesa, with AC Milan and Napoli also interested in signing the Liverpool winger, who could leave this summer having made just three starts all season.

As per the report, Liverpool could demand as much as €20m (£17m) for the Italian international just one year after signing for the Reds from Juventus, with injuries and match fitness playing a huge role in the forward’s lack of minutes for the Anfield side.

Whilst Chiesa remains a favourite with Liverpool fans, a tempting offer could be considered by the Premier League title holders if one were to come in this summer, with Tottenham a club who could be keen on bringing the 27-year-old to north London.

And with former Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici expected to return to Tottenham in some capacity this summer, Chiesa could be convinced himself to swap Liverpool for Spurs, especially if the Europa League semi-finalists can offer the forward regular minutes next season.

Liverpool would be crazy to sell Federico Chiesa to Tottenham

Chiesa might have hardly played for Liverpool this season, but most fans would agree that selling the former Serie A star would be a poor decision this summer, especially to a Premier League rival in Tottenham.

The Italian has shown bursts of quality throughout the season with Liverpool with Chiesa still managing two goals and two assists in just over 400 minutes of football with the Reds, with next season expected to be a big one for the winger.

Yet if Liverpool were to sell Chiesa to Tottenham, there will rightfully be outrage with supporters over the deal, especially with how well-suited the 27-year-old could be with the north London side if fully fit and firing.
