Jaylen Brown Sends Emotional Message to all Celtics Fans After Being Eliminated By Knicks

Jaylen Brown Sends Emotional Message to all Celtics Fans After Being Eliminated By Knicks.

The Boston Celtics 2025 NBA season is over. The defending champion, Celtics had high hopes again this season after returning 11 players from their 2023-24 championship roster.

While the Celtics regular season was filled with impressive accolades and NBA records, their normally sharp-shooting roster left their long-range game at home during the Eastern Conference semifinals against the New York Knicks.

The Celtics set the record for the most made 3-pointers in the regular season (1,457). They also tied the record for the most made 3-pointers in a single game (29). They shot 36.8% from 3-point range during the regular season (tied for ninth in the NBA), however, they shot 30% or less in three of their four losses to the Knicks in this series.

After losing Jayson Tatum to a torn Achilles during Game 4, the Celtics were able to rally, sending the series back to New York for Game 6 behind Jaylen Brown’s masterful performance in Game 5.

And despite Brown’s best efforts in Game 6, scoring 20 points before fouling out in the third quarter, the Knicks steamrolled the Celtics, taking Game 6 119-81.

During his postgame press conference, Brown sent an emotional, rather morbid message after being eliminated by the Knicks.

“Losing to the Knicks, you know, feels like death,” Brown said.

Brown and the Celtics have been eliminated from the playoffs by the Knicks. Brown, who wore all black to his postgame press conference, likened the way he felt after losing to the Knicks to death.

Despite Brown’s morbid outlook, that assuredly includes losing Tatum to a gruesome injury, Brown is aware there’s more basketball to be played in his career. He channeled his teachings from his younger years to add a positive spin on his grim outlook on the Celtics playoff exit.

“I was always taught that there’s life after death, so we’ll get ready for whatever’s next.”
