How Wolves’ stunning £187m new-look side could look if Vitor Pereira lands January transfer targets

Wolves have the opportunity to bring in some more quality when the January transfer window opens up for business

Wolves have endured a tough start to the new Premier League season. They are without a win from their first six league fixtures and find themselves bottom of the table. The Midlands outfit drew 1-1 away at Tottenham Hotspur last time out.

Vitor Pereira’s side are back in action on Sunday as they hunt for their first win. They have a home clash against Brighton and Hove Albion at Molineux. Their upcoming opponents have eight points on the board. In the meantime, here is a look at Wolves’ best line-up if they sign their January transfer targets…

Wolves’ new-look XI if January signings are made – Goalkeeper and defence

GK – Christos Mandas: The 24-year-old goalkeeper, who is a Greece international with two caps to his name, is on Wolves’ radar this winter, as per a report by Tuttomercatoweb. His price tag is said to be in the region of £25m. He has been on the books of Lazio since 2023.

RB – Matt Doherty: He re-joined on a free transfer a couple of years ago. The Republic of Ireland international likes to get up and down the right flank of defence. He is an experienced player to have in and around the dressing room.

CB: Ladislav Krejci: The 26-year-old is on loan from Girona with a view to buy for £26m. He was brought in to boost their defensive department. He managed to find the net against Leeds United last month.

CB: Emmanuel Agbadou: He joined Wolves in the last January transfer window to bolster their backline. They forked out £16.6m to snap him up. Prior to his move to England, he caught the eye playing for Stade de Reims in Ligue 1.

LB: Hugo Bueno: The left-back signed for his current club for nothing as a youngster back in 2019. He has been with them for the last six years and is enjoying a run in the team now. He was loaned out to Feyenoord in the last campaign to get some experience.

Wolves’ new-look XI if January signings are made – midfield and attack

CM – Josh Brownhill: Wolves wanted to sign the midfielder this past summer, as per Football Insider. He became a free agent following the end of his contract at Burnley. However, he ended up moving to Saudi Arabia to link up with Al-Shabab. If he struggles to settle in the Middle East, the door could open to swoop for him again down the line.

CM – Hayden Hackney: Middlesbrough are likely to face a battle to keep him in the future. According to Sky Sports, Pereira wanted him in the last window. His valuation is said to be around the £25million mark.

RW – Jhon Arias: The winger cost an initial £15m, with a further £4m to come in add-ons. He has a bright future ahead of him and made the transfer from Fluminense. The attacker was handed the number 10 shirt.

LW – Yeremay Hernández: Wolves are interested in a £52m swoop for the Deportivo La Coruna star, Fichajes have suggested. The 22-year-old has been a key player for the second tier outfit over recent times. He fired 14 goals altogether last term.

ST – Jorgen Strand Larsen: He was on the radar of Newcastle United before they signed Nick Woltemade. The Toon Army eyed him as a replacement for Alexander Isak. Wolves paid £23m to snap him up permanently which looks a real bargain now.
