‘Here we go’: Fabrizio Romano claims Spurs have finally reach an agreement with club for first January transfer deal.

Fabrizio Romano has reported that Hugo Lloris is now close to joining LAFC in America, ending an 11-year association with Tottenham Hotspur.

Despite not securing an exit in the summer, Lloris has been nothing more than a peripheral figure in North London so far this season, an ever-present in training but never seen on match day.

The Spurs captain’s armband was transferred to Heung-min Son at the start of the season, and with Lloris’ contract running out in the summer of 2024, it was clear he had already played his final game for the club.

However, the French World Cup winner now finally appears to have agreed a move to secure regular first-team football with LAFC in the MLS once the January transfer window opens.

Hugo Lloris to LAFC has been agreed

Fabrizio Romano has given the transfer his ‘here we go’ seal of approval and Lloris will join the American club on a permanent deal, rather than an initial six-month loan. It is unclear whether Tottenham will receive any kind of fee for the transfer.

Lloris will sign a one-year deal with LAFC, with an option to extend for more seasons beyond.

Spurs Web Opinion:

Everyone here at The Spurs Web would like to wish Hugo all the best for the future. A modern-day Tottenham legend and the only sad thing about his time in North London is that he didn’t lift the trophy he so badly deserved. Hugo! Hugo! Hugo!

  1. I must say, as a lot as I enjoyed reading what you had to say, I couldnt help but lose interest after a while. Its as if you had a wonderful grasp on the subject matter, but you forgot to include your readers. Perhaps you should think about this from far more than one angle. Or maybe you shouldnt generalise so considerably. Its better if you think about what others may have to say instead of just going for a gut reaction to the subject. Think about adjusting your own believed process and giving others who may read this the benefit of the doubt.
