Cristian Romero has broken his silence on social media following the disappointing FA Cup defeat, wth a passionate message for the fans.
Spurs suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to Manchester City which knocked them out of the FA Cup on Friday.
The performance was notably lackluster, possibly the team’s worst under manager Ange Postecoglou. Despite this, they held off City until the 88th minute when Ake scored from close range in a controversial goal.
Replays indicated a foul by Ruben Dias on Vicario in the build-up, but despite a VAR review, the goal was given.
Two days after the defeat, Romero took to social media to share a message, acknowledging the disappointment of the loss but emphasising the need to get back up again.
He also expressed gratitude to the supporters for their unwavering backing.
He said:
“A defeat that hurts but that forces us to get up as always and keep trying, this is what it is all about. I have no doubt that we are finally all going in the right direction together. Let’s keep it up and thank you for always supporting us. we will come back stronger @SpursOfficial”
