“Harry Kane is really a Spurs legend”: Pape Matar Sarr praises Harry Kane for spending much years at Spurs without a single tittle and highlights on how long he would stay if Spurs don’t win a tittle [Full story link in comment]
Pape Matar Sarr has admitted he wants to stay at Tottenham Hotspur for ‘as long as possible’.
The 21-year-old has established himself as a key part of Ange Postecoglou’s side this season.
Sarr signed for Tottenham for a fee worth around £15 million back in the summer of 2021 before spending the following season on loan at FC Metz.
The Senegalese midfielder caught the eye with a couple of promising displays under Antonio Conte last term, particularly in the last-16 of the Champions League at AC Milan.
But he’s really kicked on under Postecoglou’s guidance of late and was rewarded with a bumper new contract last month.
Now, Sarr has admitted he sees his long-term future at Tottenham and wants to stay at the club for as long as possible.
Sarr wants long-term Tottenham stay
“It’s a great feeling, being part of things here at Tottenham,” Sarr said, as quoted by Football.London. “It has become like a family to me now, so it makes me happy to have renewed my contract with the club.
“The view is to stay here for as long as possible so I can really express myself on the pitch, enjoy the experience to the full with the fans and push on to win trophies.
“I try to enjoy each match as it comes. I wanted to make this a great season for us all, and a good one for me.”
Sarr netted his third goal of the season against Brighton on Saturday as he returned to the starting XI.
The 21-year-old has had a hand in five goals in the league this term and is a key part of Postecoglou’s plans moving forward.
He’s already committed his future to the club after signing a deal that will run until 2030, so his latest comments shouldn’t come as a huge surprise to Spurs fans.
