Tottenham take on Fulham today and have a huge chance to keep up the pressure when it comes to the race for the top four.

With Aston Villa not playing until Sunday, there’s a chance for Spurs to increase the pressure after hammering Unai Emery’s side last weekend.

For Tottenham, a key reason behind their ability to get good results has been been their knack of getting goals from all their attacking players. Heung-Min Son has been on fire, while Richarlison and Dejan Kulusevski have also chipped in, as has summer signing, Brennan Johnson.

And speaking about Johnson on Optus Sport’s Team Talks show, Jermaine Beckford has said that the Tottenham players are now starting to trust the forward.

Tottenham players starting to trust Brennan Johnson

Speaking about the former Nottingham Forest star, Beckford admitted that he’s really excited by the prospect of seeing Johnson flourish at Spurs.

“Brennan Johnson, he’s one of that will be glad he’s starting to find his feet. He’s got everything you need to be a top-class Premier League player. He’s got the speed – you can’t defend against pace – he’s got control, his awareness is growing. His influence in the team is growing and his trust levels, they’re starting to believe in him more and I’m excited for him now,” Beckford said.

Getting better and better

Eyebrows were raised when Tottenham shelled out more than £40m to sign Brennan Johnson in the summer.

But looking back, that now looks like money well spent. The Welsh forward is producing right now for Ange Postecoglou and he might even get the nod this weekend ahead of someone like Richarlison.

As Beckford says, Johnson’s speed makes him a nightmare for defenders and it’s something that Spurs’ coaching team have looked to utilise a lot as well.

Over time, Johnson should get better and better and Tottenham will have themselves a top Premier League forward on their hands.
