Dejan Kulusevski has spoken about one Tottenham wonderkid with real excitement – and cannot wait to share a pitch with him in N17.
Spurs fans have many reasons to be excited about the future following a recruitment drive which saw some of Europe’s best talents sign for Tottenham, such as Destiny Udogie and Micky van de Ven.
Tottenham also boast some of Britain’s best homegrown talent, with gems like Mikey Moore and Jamie Donley looking set to have very bright careers.
Now, there is one prodigy – that Tottenham actually signed from overseas – who Dejan Kulusevski is very excited about playing alongside…
Dejan Kulusevski excited by 18-year-old Tottenham wonderkid
Well, the Sweden international has heaped praise on Lucas Bergvall.
Spurs signed the 18-year-old in an £8.5m deal from Djurgarden back in February.
Johan Lange – Director of Football at Tottenham – has already confirmed that Bergvall will be involved in the senior setup next season, and Kulusevski cannot wait to see his fellow Swede receive some first-team football.
The Tottenham No.21 said: “I will be a support if he needs help on the side. I have been there for a few years and know the football abroad. He is a great player and it will be fun to play with him.
“I will be there for him and I think it helps when someone has been through it before. You have to go through periods where you don’t play for a long time. It will be good for him that he has someone who really cares about him.”
Lucas Bergvall form should excite Spurs fans
It seems as if Bergvall’s £8.5m move to Tottenham has caused the teenager’s performances to go up a gear at Djurgarden.
The Sweden international has impressively scored three goals in his last five Svenska Cupen appearances since signing for Spurs – while also providing four assists.
Bergvall is displaying an eye-catching knack for scoring goals from midfield, but also creating chances for his teammates at a high volume.
It takes quite a mature midfielder to excel in both of these areas, which speaks volumes about the Stockholm-born maestro’s quality at such a young age.
Hopefully, Bergvall – who was on the end of a nasty challenge during the international break – impresses Ange Postecoglou in training over the summer, and can share a pitch with Kulusevski next season.
