Done Deal Imminent: Newcastle set to “hijack” the Spanish giants ‘Superstar’ in a bold strategic move!

Newcastle United could make a fresh move for a wonderkid they failed to sign last year.

While the Magpies have been able to bring in the likes of Yankuba Minteh and Garang Kuol, there have been plenty of young transfer targets that have slipped through Newcastle United‘s fingers.

Chelsea beat Newcastle to the signatures of Andrey Santos and Angelo Gabriel, while Maximo Perrone went to Manchester City. Toon officials also looked closely at Vitor Roque, only for the Brazilian forward to sign for Barcelona.

Newcastle missed out on wonderkid to Real Madrid last year

And it was a similar situation last summer when Real Madrid signed Arda Guler from Fenerbahce.

Los Blancos completed a £17million deal for the attacking midfielder, despite Newcastle showing a lot of interest in the Turkish teenager.

Guler was heavily linked with joining Newcastle, with reports claiming that Toon officials had met with his family, while it was suggested that the Magpies were willing to pay his release clause.

In the end, it was Real Madrid who activated the clause. They signed a player tipped to become a ‘superstar‘, while Newcastle were left to wonder what might have been.

Newcastle rekindle interest in Arda Guler

Almost one year on and Guler is on Newcastle’s radar again. The 19-year-old has endured an injury-ridden first year in the Spanish capital, and has made just eight appearances in all competitions.

That has led to him already being linked with a move away, and unsurprisingly Newcastle United have been mentioned as possible suitors.

According to Defensa Central, Newcastle are once again interested in completing a deal for Guler, and would be willing to pay £43million to acquire him.

The report adds that Real Madrid may consider selling Guler, although they also share comments from Carlo Ancelotti, who has stated that the youngster is going nowhere.

A nonsense story involving Newcastle United

One year after missing out, it would be absolutely incredible if Newcastle United were to offer more than double what Guler cost in 2023.

There is no way that the Magpies will be making a fresh move this summer – especially not for £43million. That would make him one of Newcastle’s most expensive signings ever, while he would have been a bargain last year.

It is a really odd rumour, and one that will almost certainly go absolutely nowhere.

It would be a huge shock if Madrid were to give up on Guler so soon, while it does not make much business sense for Newcastle to pay over the odds for a player they missed out on last year.
