Jamie Redknapp throws brutal dig at Tottenham Hotspur after recent development.

Jamie Redknapp has now reacted to what he’s been hearing about Tottenham lately.

Spurs have been in the spotlight recently after four consecutive defeats under Ange Postecoglou, with the north Londoners conceding 13 goals in these outings to somewhat sour the mood in N17.

Tottenham again find themselves in the spotlight on Tuesday 14th May as Manchester City travel to north London, where Spurs could potentially end up handing Arsenal the Premier League title if they can get a result.

Some have suggested that Tottenham could simply throw this Premier League clash in fear of delivering the title to their bitter rivals – and Jamie Redknapp has now reacted to these claims…

Jamie Redknapp reacts to talk of Tottenham throwing the Manchester City clash

Understandably, the 50-year-old highly doubts this is something on the mind of Postecoglou or the Spurs players.

Speaking on talkSPORT at 9:39am on Tuesday, Redknapp said: “When people talk about, are they not going to try, they are not going to hand the title to Arsenal, you can’t do that as a player. It is just impossible.

“Fans might think it can happen, but there is no way. You are going to be live on Sky, you want to perform, you want to show your best. What are you going to do? You’re not going to go into a tackle? Is the goalkeeper not going to want to save a shot? That’s not how it works in football.”

Redknapp – who also recently questioned Destiny Udogie’s positional awareness – is spot on.

While some Tottenham fans might unusually want to see their beloved Spurs lose on Tuesday, this narrative surely won’t even enter Postecoglou’s thinking.

Spurs could still end up qualifying for the UEFA Champions League with a win depending on what Aston Villa do, so we highly doubt anybody at Hotspur Way will be keen not to win on Tuesday.

Ange Postecoglou will want a reaction

Postecoglou was visibly furious during the recent 2-0 loss against Chelsea, shouting at several players as he bellowed for more forward passes.

Amidst this dreadful run, the Telegraph believe a number of senior players are at risk of being sold, such as Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Emerson Royal and even Richarlison.

Therefore, Tottenham players have a lot to prove in the final three games of the season, or else it could be curtains for some in north London this summer.
