MADDISON’S SHOCKING CONFSSION!!!: What He Just Said Will Give Spurs Fans Goosebumps.

It has been a good first season at Tottenham for James Maddison, but injury issues have held him back from being his best. Now, the playmaker says he is feeling in top condition and is keen to contribute more to the team effort.

After signing from Leicester City last summer, Maddison started the season in tantalising form for Spurs, registering three goals and five assists in his first ten games (Transfermarkt).

However, an ankle injury sustained in the defeat to Chelsea in November kept him out of action for ten games, and he’s not quite been the same since.

Ange Postecoglou has continued to start the midfielder, but Maddison has rarely played the full 90 since returning from injury in January. And, his goal contributions have stalled, too, with just two goals and two assists coming in the last 16 matches.

James Maddison is fighting fit once again for Spurs

Now, as we head into the final Premier League game of the season, Maddison has shared an update on his fitness levels, and it’s looking positive.

He told the Spurs media team: “I feel good. Last couple of games I felt good. I think it will do me the world of good that I have played almost 90 minutes in both the last two games. But I always want to improve on numbers. Goals, assists, everything. I’ve had a long injury so have missed a lot of games. But I feel good. I feel fit.

“Off the back of today [the Man City game], I was disappointed for the team more than anything, I felt like I did alright. There was spaces and pockets of space out there and I felt like we were getting success with the system, so quite frustrating actually.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I really hope we get to see the return of the Maddison we had at the start of the season again soon. When he’s on top form, we are a far more dangerous team and he really makes us tick. I genuinely think his decline has been a key factor in the side’s overall form.
