Spurs ready to battle West Ham for Denmark international this summer

GiveMeSport have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur have set their sights on Celtic star Matt O’Riley and could be ready to battle West Ham United for the midfielder’s services this summer.

Ange Postecoglou was the man who took O’Riley to Celtic, with the Scottish giants allegedly beating out competition from Blackburn Rovers, Huddersfield Town, Anderlecht and Venezia to land him from MK Dons in January of 2022.

It is revealed that the Spurs boss is now seeking to reunite with the 23-year-old at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in light of his impressive performances this season.

The report says the Hammers have also set their sights on the Celtic star, with the two London clubs potentially set to battle it out for the player.

Tottenham and West Ham both like Matt O’Riley

GiveMeSport claim that O’Riley now feels he is ready to take the next step in his career and is keen to test himself in the Premier League.

The Denmark international will thus be willing to listen to any proposals that come his way this summer but it is asserted that he will not agitate to leave Parkhead this summer.

The report adds that Celtic do not want to lose their star man and are hopeful of keeping the midfielder at the club for one more season.

It is alleged that the Bhoys will not entertain any offers of less than £25m for O’Riley, given that he is contracted to the club until 2027.

Spurs Web Opinion

O’Riley’s performances in the Scottish Premiership are certainly no guarantee that he is good enough to play at the top end of the Premier League, even as a squad player. I would be quite surprised if Tottenham pushed ahead with a move for the former MK Dons man.
