Eddie Howe has made FOUR changes from our midweek defeat at Man Utd, as Nick Pope, Fabian Schar, Joelinton and Harvey Barnes replace Martin Dubravka, Kieran Trippier, Elliot Anderson and Anthony Gordon; who misses out entirely with an ankle issue.
As expected, Tino Livramento misses out with an ankle injury, with Botman, Lascelles, Miley, Willock and Targett out once again. For the hosts, Ivan Toney starts up top along with Byran Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa.
A win could see us end the season in sixth IF Chelsea lose at home to Bournemouth, but we’ll be guaranteed to finish seventh if we better or match Man Utd’s result at Brighton, as we’re level on points with the Red Devils with far superior goal difference.
Howay the lads!
Brentford fans chanted ‘You’ll never play for England’ at Nick Pope yesterday, who has a number of England caps 😂
I see! Well, that chant definitely backfired! Nick Pope has already proven himself as a talented goalkeeper for England, with multiple caps under his belt. That chant was likely meant to rile him up, but it ended up being a hilarious irony instead!
It’s great to see players like Nick Pope who can take a joke and even fire back with a witty response. The banter between fans and players can add so much excitement and humor to the game!
Thanks for sharing the context behind the chant!
