🗣️Angry Ange Postecoglou has asked top player to leave club. He says ” No player is bigger than club” 🗣️ Another”setback ” for Tottenham Hotspur

Having come through the Spurs academy, Nile John has developed into one of the finest young players at the club, but the midfielder’s time at Tottenham could be coming to an end this summer.

That’s according to Lilywhite Rose, who tweeted on Monday, August 5th: “Understand Nile John is close to leaving Tottenham on a permanent basis.”There are no details at this stage regarding which club(s) are interested in John, how much the sale would be worth, or when it could be completed.

John made 24 appearances for the Spurs Under-23 side last season, scoring four goals and adding three assists as the Lilywhites youth side topped the Premier League 2 table and ended up victorious in the play-offs.With the arrival of players like Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall, plus the emergence of Jamie Donley and Alfie Devine from the youth squad, it is clear the pathway to the first team for any midfielder is competitive, to say the least.

John has been with Spurs his entire career, save for a brief loan spell at Charlton Athletic from January 2022 to April 2022.

The 21-year-old has made two senior appearances for Tottenham, playing 45 minutes in a Europa Conference League qualifier in 2021, against Pacos Ferreira, and another nine minutes against Wolfsberger AC in the Europa League in the same year.
We are letting some very talented youth players go this summer, with Nile John expected to follow Yago Santiago out the door.

It is a real shame to see them go, but it’s totally understandable when you look at the pipeline they’re working with to get first-team opportunities here.
