Should both deals get over the line, that could potentially see Spurs field a stunning starting XI during their opening Premier League game against newly-promoted Leicester City.Spurs are settled in between the sticks following the arrival of Guglielmo Vicario to replace Hugo Lloris. The Italian started every league game last season and seems a good bet to do the same this term.
Micky van de Ven caught the eye during his debut season in North London after arriving from Wolfsburg. His absence was certainly felt during his injury so he seems sure to start on the opening day.
His defensive partner Cristian Romero has endured a busy summer having played at this summer’s Copa America. But is one of the first names on Postecoglou’s teamsheet.
It’s a fierce battle between him and former Brighton man Yves Bissouma for a starting berth but given the latter has been recovering from a knee injury, Sarr should do enough to start. He could be joined by summer signing Gray.
Wolves star Pedro Neto is a candidate to be drafted in on the right flank. The Portuguese is among the targets alongside Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze but it is likely that the Wolves man will be the cheaper option.
