LOPETEGUI TO LANDS DREAM SIGNING FOR FREE! Following Todibo Transfer, West Ham Has Been Offered a Gift from the Gods with ‘Mind-Blowing’ 29-year-old Superstar!
West Ham United head coach Julen Lopetegui has a chance to sign Mario Hermoso on a free transfer this summer.
The Hammers have already been linked with a move to sign the 29-year-old centre-back this summer, but Aston Villa allegedly want to sign him as well.
Julen Lopetegui has already bolstered his central defensive ranks at West Ham with the signing of Max Kilman, and it seems as though he’s closing in on a deal for Jean-Clair Todibo as well.
Addressing the centre-back department would have been the main priority for Lopetegui this summer.
The Hammers shipped an embarrassing 74 Premier League goals last season – only the three relegated teams conceded more.
Kurt Zouma and Nayef Aguerd were both big problems for us last season, and Lopetegui has already made big upgrades on them both.
And as amazing as this sounds, things could be set to get even better for the Hammers now…
West Ham offered free agent Mario Hermoso
According to a report from Area Napoli, the free agent has been offered to the Hammers and Aston Villa by intermediaries.
The thing is, I’m not sure West Ham need him anymore, especially with Todibo incoming.
That’s not to say that the five-capped Spain international isn’t a brilliant player, because he certainly is exactly that.
Breaking the Lines describe Hermoso as ‘incredible’, and they’re spot on – he really is an exceptional footballer.
The 29-year-old is experienced in playing in an extremely organised and well-drilled back-line, having spent time under Diego Simeone at the Civitas Metropolitano Stadium.
In 31 La Liga appearances for Atletico Madrid last season, Hermoso averaged 1.5 tackles, one interception, 2.6 clearances and 1.5 successful aerial duels per game (Who Scored).
Standing at 6ft tall, the Spain international isn’t the tallest of central defenders, but he more than makes up for that with an impressive spring and leap.
As mentioned earlier though, I’m just not sure that there is room for Mario Hermoso now at West Ham.
And that in itself is a sign of just how good our transfer business has been this summer.
That said, he can operate as a left-back as well, so who knows, perhaps Lopetegui sees him as competition for Emerson Palmieri.
