Conor Gallagher is a player Tottenham have been linked with for a long time now.
Gallagher is apparently closing in on a move to Atletico Madrid, but, at the moment, that deal is up in the air.
Speaking to ESPN, James Olley has been discussing Gallagher’s impending move to Madrid, and he says that you shouldn’t fully discount Tottenham making a late move for the player.
The journalist suggested that Daniel Levy could be playing the ultimate game to land Gallagher late in the window.
Tottenham can’t be discounted in Conor Gallagher race
Olley shared what he knows about Gallagher and his future.
“The Conor Gallagher thing is interesting, they have been linked and they have been looking at him for a long time.
“Every time a club has gone in, Aston Villa have gone in and Atletico Madrid are in now, Tottenham haven’t tried to seriously them.
“Whether Daniel Levy is playing the ultimate game of brinkmanship here and waiting for it to really go down to the wire to get him for a cut price, that could be a masterstroke, I’d say it’s odds against at the moment, but with Daniel Levy you can never rule anything out.”
Late Gallagher move would make sense
Tottenham making a late move for Conor Gallagher would make the world of sense.
Not only is this the type of move Daniel Levy loves to make, Gallagher is a player Ange Postecoglou absolutely loves.
With Atletico Madrid and Chelsea stalling over this move, there may still be half a chance that Tottenham get involved here.
