Done Deal Imminent: West Ham set to “hijack” the Spanish giants transfer target in a bold strategic move!

West Ham have agreed to sign Paris FC midfielder Mohamadou Kante on a buy-to-loan deal, sources have told Football Insider.

The 18-year-old is having a medical at West Ham on Tuesday after agreeing terms on a five-year contract with the Premier League outfit.

Kante will not feature for the Irons this season though, as he is set to immediately return to Paris FC on loan for the campaign.

The Frenchman’s contract was due to expire in 2025, with Paris FC opting to cash in on him.

Kante has yet to feature in Ligue 2, with all his game time taking place for Paris FC’s Under-19s or B team.

The midfielder has made 31 appearances so far in his young career and has scored five goals.

West Ham are focusing on the future with Mohamadou Kante

Kante is a signing with the future in mind for the Irons, which is why he is being loaned back to Paris FC.

It’s a deal seen as best for all parties as Paris FC retains the midfielder for another season, while Kante can develop with regular playing time.

Kante will be West Ham’s sixth summer signing after Crysencio Summerville, Niclas Fullkrug, Guido Rodriguez, Jean-Clair Tobido, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, in what has been a busy summer for the club.

West Ham are also in the market to sign a striker before the 31st August cut-off, and Tammy Abraham is top of their list of targets.

Football Insider revealed that Abraham is seen as a high priority, but the club needs to sell some players before making a move for the Roma forward.
