𝐉𝐔𝐒𝐓 𝐈𝐍 : Ian Wright gives fresh Verdict on Tottenham Hotspur £43m star after an astonishing display against Toffees.

Tottenham bounced back from their draw against Leicester City in emphatic fashion with a thumping 4-0 win over Everton.

The biggest surprise of the Premier League’s opening weekend was Spurs dropping points to newly-promoted Leicester despite dominating the Foxes in the first half.

But Ange Postecoglou’s side responded to their critics superbly with a 4-0 win over Everton at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Yves Bissouma opened the scoring with a thunderous effort in the first half and Heung-Min Son scored either side of Cristian Romero’s towering header to cap off a dominant performance.

Tottenham were impressive going forward but also looked much more organised at the back with Romero and Micky van de Ven keeping their first clean sheet of the season.Tottenham’s attackers will hog the headlines after Saturday’s win, but Ian Wright was quick to praise Van de Ven for an “unbelievable” moment against Everton.

The Dutch centre-back, who joined Tottenham for £43million last summer, showcased his lightning-quick pace during a second-half counter-attack.With Spurs already 3-0 up, Van de Ven burst through the centre of the pitch with the ball and ended up assisting Son for his second goal of the game.

It was a moment that stood out for Ian Wright, “Everyone was on the attack and he was on the edge of his box there,” he told Premier League productions .

“If you look at all the Everton players, the ones in front of him and beside him, none of them get near him.

“Look, none of them get in front of him to make a challenge. That’s just pace and ability. It’s unbelievable, what he has done there, so impressive, so impressive.”Van de Ven enjoyed a brilliant debut campaign last season and he is quickly forming a formidable partnership with Romero at the heart of Tottenham’s defence.Romero impressed over the summer with Argentina, where he lifted the Copa America trophy having only conceded one goal in the entire tournament.

With Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie either side of them, Spurs now have one of the best defensive lines in the entire Premier League.
