Chelsea winger Jadon Sancho has given a very honest assessment on his performance against Brighton & Hove Albion over the weekend.
Jadon Sancho started in Chelsea‘s 4-2 win and played a big part in two of the four goals teammate Cole Palmer scored.
Sancho won the penalty that Palmer dispatched before setting up the 22-year-old from open play. Tony Cascarino liked what he saw from Sancho, who has now registered three assists in three games for the Blues.
Still, there was one aspect of Sancho’s performance that the player himself was not too happy about.

Chelsea started off their match against Brighton in the worst possible fashion, conceding in the seventh minute after a mistake from Robert Sanchez.
Individually, Sancho also felt that he did not begin the game in the best way. Speaking to Chelsea’s official website after it, he said: “I thought I started off a bit slow, but I feel like I grew into the game. I managed to win the penalty and I got the assist for Cole, so I’m happy to be able to contribute.
“Overall, I was just happy to play at Stamford Bridge for the first time as a Chelsea player. It was a great feeling and I really appreciated the reception I got from the fans.”
While Sancho may have started off slowly, the winger eventually came to life and helped Enzo Maresca‘s team to win a third consecutive game in the Premier League. That is all that really matters.
Overall, Sancho was probably one of the best players on the pitch. Sancho won the most ground duels at Stamford Bridge on the afternoon.
Jadon Sancho’s display more than satisfactory
Sancho may have not been happy with how he started the Brighton game, but Maresca and Chelsea supporters will be happy with is overall contribution.
Again, the 24-year-old was involved in a couple of goals and really competed for possession. It is going to be hard for Mykhailo Mudryk to oust him out of the team.
Chelsea co-owner Behdad Eghbali is desperate for Mudryk to be a success at Stamford Bridge, but that is not going to happen if Sancho keeps the Ukrainian out of the side. And at this moment in time, that is exactly what is happening.
