Kudus is out! West Ham drop star after ‘heated’ bust- up with Julen Lopetegui

West Ham obtained a vital point last weekend on our visit to the Gtech Community Stadium, where a second half Tomas Soucek goal cancelled out an early deficit, with Mbuemo scoring for the hosts inside the 1st minute of play.

During half time, when West Ham were trailing 1-0, Head Coach Julen Lopetegui decided to make changes to the team by deciding to have Kudus and Emerson replaced by Mavropanos and Soler respectively.

Our club insider and Podcast co-host ExWHUEmployee advised on The West Ham Way Podcast that Kudus was unhappy with the decision to be withdrawn from the game at the interval.

Ex has gone on to further advise that although Kudus did make his feelings known at the time, this is a very typical situation and its one that has already been resolved, yet unfortunately has been completely blown out of proportion by certain social media accounts.

This story surrounding Kudus has been doing the rounds in the media, so I wanted to clarify it further so it doesn’t appear more serious than it actually is,” stated Ex.

“Lopetegui felt at half time that things were not working and one decision was to swap Kudus for Summerville, for which Kudus understandably was disappointed about.

“The player was unhappy at the time, however we were trailing and Lopetegui has every right to make changes he feel can help the team – and in the end we managed to get the equaliser and could have won the match.

There really is nothing more than a player being unhappy in the moment, and we understand things are fine now as we prepare for the important game against Ipswich at the weekend.”
