Manchester city prepare huge player-plus-cash offer for Tottenham ‘rebel’ Pedro Porro

Tottenham value Man City right-back target Pedro Porro at £80million, sources have told Football Insider.

City are continuing to keep tabs on the 25-year-old, who left the club permanently for Sporting CP in 2022 without making a senior appearance. The English champions’ interest was first revealed by Tottenham News earlier this year and they are monitoring his progress with the London club.

However, Spurs won’t let the Spain international leave the club without a huge transfer fee.City are compiling a shortlist of right-back targets to replace long-serving star Kyle Walker – who will be 35 at the end of the 2024-25 campaign.

Porro features highly on that list, with the City recruitment team impressed by his stats and holding the belief that he would fit their style of play.

The flying right-back joined Tottenham in January 2023 and has gone on to notch eight goals and 10 assists in 63 appearances for the club.

He has been an ever-present for Ange Postecoglou’s side in the Premier League this term and has been deployed in a very attacking role – already taking 16 shots, more than striker Dominic Solanke.Porro’s contract with Tottenham runs until June 2028.

The 25-year-old joined City from Girona in 2019 but was shipped out on loan to Real Valladolid and Sporting before leaving permanently three years later. The 25-year-old appeared at ease in Postecoglou’s inverted full-back position right away. In recent years, we’ve grown accustomed to seeing this position throughout Europe, but Spurs take a unique approach by having both full-backs invert at the same time. For instance, only one full-back will switch to midfield for Manchester City, Arsenal, and Liverpool.

But Porro has been brilliant for Spurs under Postecoglou, he has transformed the right side of the north Londoners who look more threatening in the attack. Credits should be given to Porro and now maybe it’s time for him to be considered as one of the best right-backs in the Premier League.

Why Pedro Porro is the best right-back in the Premier League?

Pedro Porro’s passing, vision, and tackling skills are among the many reasons he is regarded as one of the world’s top right-backs. Porro has adjusted well to playing for Ange Postecoglou and Antonio Conte, among other managers.

Porro has set up more goals than some of the top attackers in the Premier League, and he excels at passing. Tottenham Hotspur fans no longer remember Kyle Walker, who departed to join Manchester City, thanks to Porro.
