Newcastle United are willing to sell Callum Wilson before the transfer window closes, sources have told Football Insider.
The Premier League side are finalising a deal to sign William Osula from Sheffield United this month.
The deal for Osula is all but done after breakthrough talks, with personal terms agreed and a fee of £10million arranged.
The Danish footballer is expected to undergo his medical imminently, with this deal set to be completed soon.
That has opened the door for Newcastle to offload Wilson, which the club attempted to do before the 30th June accounting deadline.
The north-east giants had set a £15million asking price for the Englishman, but there were no buyers at that price.
Wilson has since suffered a back injury that has ruled him out of Newcastle’s pre-season, ensuring he won’t be ready for the start of the Premier League.
Newcastle are ready to cash in on Callum Wilson this month
The 32-year-old is out of contract at St James’ Park next summer, meaning this is Newcastle’s final chance to earn money from him.
However, it is believed that the Magpies must lower their asking price to sell him before the window closes.
Wilson has scored 48 goals in 108 games in all competitions for Newcastle, but his injury issues have been problematic.
Another player who could be on his way out of St James’ Park this month is Anthony Gordon, who Newcastle do not want to leave.
